I used to think we changed our names when we were adults so that we would have two in our lifetime: one for when we were children and one for when we grew up. Of course, this theory was quashed when I found out one of my neighbours who was an adult had the same name as me.
2.
You know some people use pins to secure their headscarves to keep them in place? Well, I thought those pins were poked into the head, the ends going straight to the brain. (Writing this now, I can’t quite believe that I thought this, haha.) When I was around 6, I asked a girl with a pin in her scarf who confirmed it was not in her brain. They just weave it into the fabric.

Immortality. When I was very young, probably around 4 or so. I thought I would live forever. But unlike the usual immortal myth, when one ages into adulthood, I thought I would be that little toddler forever. I remember having a visual of my mum tucking me into bed on repeat. Then I found out we died when I was about 6 and used to wake in the middle of the night to run into my parent’s room because I didn’t want to die. (Though I believe we will live forever in the…
