But Don’t We?

A poem

-

Couldn’t see where it was going,

Kept on stumbling through the unknown.

Thought that it wouldn’t lead far on my own.

But don’t we stumble upon the good?

-

A lost soul,

Fading in the background.

Not even making a sound.

But don’t we find what was lost?

-

The gap inside ignored,

Even when that gaping hole,

Starts taking its toll.

But don’t we fill what was empty?

-

Couldn’t feel anything numb,

And felt nothing real.

Just couldn’t feel.

But don’t humans encounter unknown feelings?

-

Kept looking for something more,

Searching for that hidden purpose,

So no more feelings of worthless.

Because don’t the lost be guided?

-

Loosing only to find it was worth it,

A moment of realisation,

Reason for causation.

Because don’t we make the best of it?

-

Picked the lost soul up from the abyss,

Put a stop to the aimlessness,

Turned it into more than less.

Because don’t we strive for excellence?

-

Picked up a pen and started to write,

Wanted to see where it’d take me.

Somewhere farther than now be.

But don’t ever lose hope, even in the dark because you ought to know you can rise again with the sun and shine with the stars and go through phases with the moon, all while staying whole.

-

Because yes, we stumble upon the good and we be guided when we’re lost.

Remember that every pain has its end and every day offers new opportunities. Believe it gets better because it does.

Much love to all my supporters and inspirers, including but not exclusive to:
