A Poem

-

Enough of these warm winters,

I am used to the cold anyway.

Makes me feel something,

Even if it is just numbness.

Feels like caterpillars are eating my insides.

Not quite sure what they are feasting on.

Didn’t know my desperation tasted so good.

Maybe it’s acquired taste.

But that takes time.

You must be patient.

-

A few months pass and things change,

You cannot be stuck in one place forever.

Needed are a little patience and a lot of prayer.

Now, all I ever feel inside are butterflies.

Feels like spring all the time,

But even when winter comes,

I know your blanket of affection wraps me up.

Out of nothing good came something great.

And it can only become greater from here.

-

Everything on God’s time.
