How to curb your impulse purchases
A little tried and tested method that worked for me and can for you.
Sometimes (or for some- at every shop) we can over-purchase items, that we don’t really need: impulse purchases. But what if I tell you there’s a way to curb this habit? Read on for how…
Taking a set amount of money- in cash to a shop is the simple answer. As studies show that using your card is much easier than cash (because you can see the money physically leaving you when using cash).
This is because you have nothing to fall back on (like your card) and you become more cautious about how much you spend. If you are going to the grocers say, take an amount you want to spend and that is all- no more because then you know you cannot over spend. You may even have change left in your pocket, after your shop, which can be put in a separate little money pot at home, which will add up over time! You’ll be saving in both ways, for something you may actually need.
Also, to see if you really ought to buy a product wait it out- you may even forget about it, so you won’t need it but if you remember it- it’s more likely you will need it.
So, try it out and let me know how it goes!
