How my love for reading encouraged me to make a reading journal.

I LOVE reading but I wanted to savour it more, wanted to get something out of it, all while still being appreciative of my hobby.

Thus, I brought a reading journal: where I can keep track of my reading; contemplate and reflect on what I have read; plan things out. The list continues but now my hobby means a great deal more for me- when you write things down and actively take time out to contemplate over things, it allows you to be grateful and understand what this means to you. It becomes a place of sanity and that hobby is enhanced.

You hobby doesn’t have to be reading, nor does the thing you want to express gratitude to have to be a hobby- it simply needs to be. All you have to do is choose what you want to appreciate more, feel more, savour more and find a way to do so.

For example, you may choose to avail of a hobby, a job, a person, or simply life and then choose a way to do that. You can keep a journal (it can be for a year- to track mood, water intake, what you’ve done in a day or something else), a picture diary, a blog, video/picture/voice recordings compiled into an album. You can write letters for yourself to read later, or give them to someone else.

If you have a hobby, actively engage into it. If it’s a sport=do it more. You love poetry= write a poem daily, weekly or just whenever you feel like it.

The point is, is to do what you love and make it last, even after you have done it. Your life is yours, make the most of it and love it while you do. And savour those moments- they matter to you.
