A Poem
-
I do not fear the dark,
Only the one that resides inside.
That one that obliterates all else,
The one that feasts on your insides,
The darkness that hails war,
The bleakness that follows.
You may not fear but it scares me.
How you would let that dark inside be.
-
I do not fear the night,
Even though I can barely see my hand in front of me.
Only that in the night’s darkness lies-
Secrets we do not wish to uncover.
And monsters that roam,
Wishing to catch you unawares.
It is in the night,
That all those sins come to light.
-
I do not fear the shadow,
Even when it follows.
Not even when it stays.
Just only when I see it take shape of you.
How it enlarges into something unhuman, with pointy horns, baring its teeth.
