A Poem

-

You tried too hard but it was all for nought,

Put your faith in the wrong place,

Your foot on the wrong path,

Walked against the wind,

In lieu of with it.

No matter how hard you try,

It’s fruitless if you put that energy in the wrong place.

Why scale walls,

When you can knock them down.

Why fight nature,

When you can find peace.

Why ignore,

When you can listen.

Are you afraid?

Of what?

Why do you worry?

Let your heart in a flurry.

Summer was an illusion,

The frost still bites.

Don’t lose sight,

It shall all be right.

You got distracted,

Because your focus was never set.

Turn your focus in the right direction and all the distractions cease.

You need to turn to the truth.

Before it is too late.

This feeling became a forgotten memory,

And now it is buried in history.

I thought you were dead,

Do you wish to lose your head?

Your confidence borders on shameless.

Your heart does not stay.

Took all the risks with no accountability,

Took all rights with no responsibility.

To love and be loved.

To fight and be fought for.

You do not love to fight,

But fight for love you would.

Some things test our morals,

Others try our values.

All are part of the test.

None happen by chance.

Stop seeing the thorns as opposed to the petals.

Take a moment to consider the roots.

-And do not be like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. It is they who are ˹truly˺ rebellious. ~ The Qur’an 59:19
