The heartbreak endured every day.

(I wish to make the note that this was written before October 2023.)

-

He walks barefoot across his land,

The exploded glass catches and cuts.

Yet, it is nothing compared to the pain in his heart.

The loss bare in his hands.

But to faith, he holds tight.

Won’t go down without a fight.

Throat raw from screaming.

New scars to join the old.

She knows this hurt intimately.

It has invaded her very soul.

But she also knows this is all a test.

God will one day give her rest.

They run through the smoke of bombs,

Their newborn between them.

Cries thrown to the sky,

As they stumble across the uneven grounds.

But fear for their oppressors never existed.

With the knowledge that this was transient, they persisted.

Shot dead in front of his home.

A martyr at seven.

But our Lord is merciful.

Justice will one day be served.

He had a rock in defence,

They have guns in offence.

They won’t tell you the truth,

As she searches for her Baba.

They will not let you see,

As he runs to his injured son.

They think they will get away with this without punishment.

Yet, the day approaches closer for their judgement.

The hypocrisy is disgusting,

My land has been invaded,

My people have been killed.

But they say we are the ones who are to blame.

Tears leak from my face,

Oh, what I would do to be in your place.

In their blood runs bravery.

But this blood spills out onto the streets.

Merciless murder.

But it is not in vain.

This is their means to attain the highest ranks in Paradise.

After all this sacrifice.

My heart aches.

But it also knows.

Palestine will one day be free.

The pain of my brothers and sisters will come to an end.

But before that blessed day,

‘ولا غالب إلا الله’ is what I shall say.

-

And indeed, there is no greater victor except Allah.

-‘Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever usurps unlawfully even a hand span of land a collar measuring seven times (this) land will be placed around his neck on the Day of Resurrection”.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
