A Poem

-

Come! Out with it, sorrow,

There are places we must go,

For you seem keen to follow,

With me, into tomorrow.

-

Oh, broken one

I am not meant to be your lifelong companion,

Though, yes, the rays of the dawn,

Do seem to have gone.

-

There is only the dark,

Thanks to you.

No flint to spark,

Just you here to mock.

-

Do not thank me,

Wake up!

Beat me,

Do not let me rule your sea.

-

What will you do if I flee?

Do speak now.

Will you follow me?

Or will you just let me be?

-

That is not for me to say.

It is for you to learn.

Go into the day,
