The Best Natural Products for Your Skin
Ditch the chemicals and embrace the naturals.
Having sensitive skin generally results in very few or effective products to use on your skin. So, I decided to quit using chemical products, that didn’t do that much to my face and opted for nature’s little blessings, which can be used by anyone, no matter what type of skin you have.
Disclaimer: Please be aware that this is not professional advice, these are products I have found very effective for my skin and face. Note that you may have a reaction when using these products, ergo always do a test with every product. Everyone’s results may differ and unlike chemical products, natural items may take more time to visibly show up; time is of the essence, after all.
The List:
For the best results, use organic/pure/natural types of each product, in its natural form, with no extra ‘bits’.
Most of these alone will clean skin, leaving it clear, smooth and radiant while combating acne and spots, as they clean the skin and keep dirt at bay- the main reason why spots occur. Changing diet and eating natural foods, fruits and veg also are healthy for the skin, body and mind.
Here are some of nature’s joys and benefits, research more about them to seek their full benefits.
Oatmeal: Mixed with some water and applied on the face allows it to soothe dry, itchy, irritated skin, soaks excess oils, exfoliates, moisturises, cleans and can reduce inflammation.
Honey: My first natural product, is what your skin needs. Antibacterial, hydrates even the driest skin, cleans, gives a natural glow, lightens scars, anti-ageing properties, useful for sunburn, fights spots and pimples… Must I go on? Use daily and see the difference.
Blueberries: Squish up and place on the face. I let it dry and sleep with it on- to wake to softer skin.
Okra: Being high in vitamins C and A, calcium, iron, magnesium and many anti-oxidants, this anti-ageing tool, put on your face will offer grand benefits.
Ice cubes: Sounds weird, right? But guided on the face- not leaving it too long in one place, can reduce/prevent wrinkles, ease acne, soothe sunburn, eliminate puffiness, especially around the eyes and more.
Egg whites: Left on the face for around 15 mins can relieve greasy skin and the many nutrients found in the egg, can be very beneficial.
Green tea: Holding antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, can help with sebum secretion, reducing acne.
Aloe Vera: With natural healing properties, this gem can reduce scars, help burns and leave overnight to allow spots to be significantly reduced. Scoop straight out from the plant, don’t use the yellow latex bit found in some parts. Can be used on hair and helped me after two applications to remove dandruff.
Avocado: Plentiful in natural fats and oil, leave on the face for silky, soft, radiant skin. While also improving skin elasticity, skin condition, skin feel and more.
Natural Yoghurt: Providing UV protection as well as fighting acne, soothing, brightening and improving skin, it is definitely one to try.
Cocoa Powder: Mix with a little water and see how it moisturises, cleans, soothes and tightens skin.
Turmeric: Cleans skin and provides lustre and glow but may leave your skin orange after- panic not: wash will some soap or toner. Keep away from eyes. Wash with clean water for a few mins to clear. A slight tingling sensation can be felt on the skin (due to the nature of this product) when using these products, which ought to go after a while. Ergo, leave this on for a little amount of time and patch test first.
Fresh ginger: Containing natural oils, ginger will reduce inflammation, soothe skin and helps your skin to heel, while also offering a glow and a visible clean feel. Keep away from eyes. Wash with clean water for a few mins to clear. A slight tingling sensation can be felt on the skin (due to the nature of this product) when using these products, which ought to go after a while. Ergo, leave this on for a little amount of time and patch test first.
Coconut oil: Opt for a natural moisturiser, for hair, face and food, coconut oil helps to moisturise dry skin and hair, offering a luscious glow too but don’t overdo it as it can clog pores. Using oats after use to drain out excess oils is recommended.
