A Poem

-

Branded in my heart,

Etched into my soul.

Where do touch, does smart,

Fire built with burnt coal.

-

That fire has turned wild.

Ever burning light,

Coldness now exiled.

Flames ravaging bright.

-

Acts made forbidden,*

Best kept when hidden.

Shan’t undo the undone,

When it has just begun.

-

I knew of the crime,

But still committed,

Because it meant falling,

In love-

With you.

*The verse ‘Acts made forbidden’ is in reference to what society forbids, not in relation to the laws of God.
