The Colour of Your Eyes

A (very short) Poem
What is the colour that graces your eyes?
I cannot lean too close to see otherwise,
You may just see the blatant love in mine.
The love I intend to explain in time.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
And those who say, “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous.”
Goodness, this is my shortest poem on Medium. Can it even be called a poem? Yes, in truth, it can. I had some hesitation in writing a few lines and publishing them because I felt it was too few lines for you all. Yet, sometimes only a few lines are enough. More than enough. I hope you all enjoyed them. Thank you to Selma Othmani for beautifully portraying this message in her great pieces and for giving me the push I needed to publish a short poem!
