5 More to enhance your learning

  1. Speaking- it is all well and good speaking the words in your head but working on speaking aloud is really important to ensure you can pronounce words and they sit right on your tongue. Do this by talking to someone fluent or learning in the language and partake in conversations. The more you speak, the more fluent you will become. If you are not comfortable talking with others, you can do it in the mirror, or record yourself and listen back.
  2. Pen pals- Pen pals can allow you to fully engage in the language, as you test all four key elements of language learning: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  3. Apps- There are a plethora of apps and sites to allow you to learn a language in an interactive way. Duolingo, Babbel, Memrise, and Easy Languages are a few among many.
  4. Workbooks- Investing in a workbook is useful, if you like independent learning- many come with an accompanying CD, so you can also listen along.
  5. A little every day- I think the most vital tip is this very one: a little learning every day, will allow you to retain information and when you embed this into your daily lifestyle, it will become a habit and create a pattern, you will naturally fall onto- encouraging you to keep going. Because you have got this; you just have to keep going.

May your language learning be ever more successful and if you haven’t seen part 1 yet, here it is: 5 Language Learning Tips (Part 1).
