One Method To See If You Have Matured Mentally

Growth is part of life- how far have you come?

Ideally, with time, we shall grow, learn and experience so much and with this, comes maturity. Yet, we can fail to see this sometimes, especially when it comes to ourselves because we are so self-critical and dismissive of our progress.

But if you feel regret or embarrassment or even shame concerning some past experience, belief or simply just your past self, this could be a sign of maturity. For your once-held ideologies and actions are now things you cannot bring yourself to hold or do. This is because of experiences and lessons you have learned, which now change your outlook on life.

This is progress.

But do not wallow in embarrassment, remorse in regret or drown in shame. This will not benefit you, rather it will waste time. What is more better for you is to make these lessons of growth and reminders that we make mistakes. The important thing is to learn from this and understand that with time, we change our ways.

Yet, a belief held before that is no more is not necessarily a mistake. So, do not beat yourself up for it. For example, in simple terms, you may once have loathed blue cheese (in all honesty, this is…
