A Poem

-

I try to pen your beauty,

But I cannot.

Some things were not meant to be read, they were made to be felt.

I try to go about my day without thinking of you,

I cannot.

Name me this delicious ache.

Even the quietest part of my soul screams for you.

I hear your sigh and your laugh and your heart-

And thank God for the gift of hearing.

Do you ever remember your heart beats in sync with mine?

Today you are no longer the charming prince.

No, now you are the king who reigns over the kingdom called my heart.

I always wished to touch the moon and be among the stars but here I behold something more.

‘Why the moon?’

You asked with roses for cheeks,

‘When you make the moon envious with your luminaire,’

Said the one with stars for eyes.

Eyes I find only to lose myself in.
